Congress and YSR Congress MLAs, and Telugu Desam Party MLCc and other leaders strongly opposed the move to form Rayala-Telangana and asserted on Wednesday that they would agitate to keep the State integrated.

Congress MP of Rajampet, A. Sai Prathap, expressed his support, over telephone, for a united State and opposed the UPA government’s move to split Rayalaseema, Rayalaseema Karmika Karshaka Samithi president Ch. Chandrasekhara Reddy said in a round table conference on the Rayala-Telangana issue organised by Rayalaseema People’s Forum in YSR Memorial Press Club here.

A meeting of people’s representatives of four Rayalaseema districts will be held at Hyderabad on December 12 or 13 to chalk out the future course of action, Mr. Reddy said.

MLC flays UPA

Rayalaseema West Teachers MLC Battala Pullaiah on Wednesday opposed the Rayala-Telangana proposal and alleged that it displayed the dictatorial attitude of the UPA government.

He flayed the Congress leadership for bowing to separatists and mooting the bifurcation of the State when the people of the State co-existed peacefully.

Meanwhile, Yogi Vemana University Student JAC members staged a blindfolded demonstration at the YSR statue on the university premises on Wednesday resenting the UPA government’s move to form Rayala-Telangana.
