VIJAYAWADA: Will actor Nandamuri Balakrishna’s plunge into active politics be announced at ‘Yuva Garjana’? Will the inheritor of NTR’s hero legacy take on his on-screen rival and contemporary Chiranjeevi?

These questions about Balakrishna are uppermost in the minds of the TDP cadres, his fans and enthusiasts, rather than the unveiling of a youth policy that the party’s polit bureau members harp on. On thing is for sure -- ‘Balaiah Babu’, as he is called in the party and film circles, will the hog limelight and may address the crowd on Wednesday. Some other leaders say that his part on the dais of ‘Yuva Garjana’ will be quite sizeable and it will be next only to TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu. Every other member of the Nandamuri family, including Rajya Sabha member Harikrishna, will also speak though only for a few minutes. Asked about Balakrishna’s role, TDP MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said that he (Balakrishna) would play a key role, next only to the party president TDP SC Cell Chairman Varla Ramaiah says there should not be any dispute over Balakrishna getting a lion’s share of the time devoted for speeches. Coming at a crucial juncture, the ‘Yuva Garjana’ is widely seen as a Balakrishna show among his fans.
