Razvi not permitted to meet the legislator

The health condition of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi was reported to be stable on Saturday though there was some concern last evening. Besides his regular health check up, his personal physician Mazhar Ali Khan spent about an hour with him in the District Jail, Adilabad during the mulaqat period.

Doctors at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad had conducted an ultrasound scan and an x-ray on the MLA on Friday night when the latter had complained of unbearable pain in his lower abdomen. Based on these examinations, the doctors concluded that Mr. Owaisi’s health was stable though he had pain.

The Nizamabad police, which was to take custody of Mr. Owaisi in the morning to produce him in a court there in connection with another alleged hate speech, deferred it on account of security reasons. He, however, will be taken to the neighbouring district after the court allots a fresh date for his appearance.

Meanwhile, MIM MLC Syed Altaf Hyder Razvi was not permitted to meet the legislator as the mulaqat slots had expired for the week. His family members, who had arrived here on Friday, also returned to Hyderabad.
