Akashvani organises two music concerts

The Prasar Bharati -Akashvani Vijayawada Station conducted two music concerts for a select audience at G.V.R. Government College of Music and Dance on Friday.

Welcoming the gathering, Assistant Station Director M. Krishnakumari, said that in future the Akashvani Kendra will conduct this kind of Sabhas in several important places in the State. 

She also announced that four musicians belonging to the Vijayawada Station Zone got A-Top grade ranks. These four are Malladi Sriram Prasad (vocal solo), Malladi Ravikumar (light music solo), Komanduri Seshadri (viola) and Bhusurapalli Venkateswarlu (dolu).

The first concert was a vocal recital by Malladi Narayana Sarma, accompanied on violin by Komandur Seshadri, on mridangam by I. Pinakapani and on the morsing by T. Lakshmishankar. 

The second concert was veena Ekaraga Sabha (playing all the items in one raga) performed by veteran vainik Pudukkottai R. Krishna Murthy.  Supporting veena was played by Vinjamuri Padma. Mridangam support was provided by Dandamudi Sumathi Ramamohan Rao.

The Sangeetha Sabha will be broadcast on December 5 at 9 a.m. and Veena Ekaraga Sabha on December 8 at 9 a.m. over All India Radio.
