Several members of the All India Youth Federation were taken into custody as they tried to lay siege to the APEPDCL office at Ganjipeta here on Tuesday asking the government to roll back the hike in power tariff caused by the levy of fuel adjustment surcharge that became a burden on the people.

People were facing a burden of Rs. 32,442 crore, thanks to the Congress government which promised in its election manifestos that it would not increase power tariff.

Farmers, weavers, and all sections were adversely affected, said AIYF leaders M. Srinvias, P. Chandrasekhar, V. Satyanarayana, and others.
