The Begumpet airport is being spruced up for the civil aviation show to be held next week.
Apart from the building being spruced up, the authorities are busy supervising the security arrangements with the officials of the Central Industrial Security Force and the city police.
Plans are being drawn up to ensure proper parking arrangements for those visiting the show during the last two days, when it will be open for general public.
Officials of the Airports Authority of India said efforts were on to complete the repairs, including runway at the earliest.
Air operations were suspended at the international airport at Begumpet after the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad was thrown open in March 2008.
The decades old airport is now being used for aviation training and for landing and take off of some private aircraft and VVIP aircrafts.
