Anantapur: Twenty four-year-old Narayana Bharath Gupta belonging to Gooty town in Anantapur district has bagged the 17th rank in the Union Public Civil Services examination in the country and has emerged as the State topper. Gupta is a medical doctor now turning into an IAS officer. Gupta told the media that he could not believe what he saw in the Internet when he clicked on the Civil Services results. He said that he was overjoyed that his best efforts by studying 17 hours a day paid off and added that he is glad that he is going to become an IAS officer. He said the urge to achieve something in life relating to community service has made him search beyond his medical profession as he felt that he could achieve more as an IAS officer than a medical officer.

He said that he missed the pleasures of childhood due to his pre-occupation in academics but the urge to achieve something in life had dwarfed all that he thought he missed. He stated that his ambition in life is to serve the poor and make a difference in their lives.
