Demanding that at least 12 cooking gas refill cylinders per family a year must be distributed on subsidised price, activists of the All India Democratic Women’s Association on Monday staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Monday.

Addressing the activists, vice-president of the AIDWA’s district unit T. Savitri and secretary of city unit Suryakumari said that it was unfair on the part of the government to announce that the subsidy on cooking gas refills would be credited into the bank accounts of the consumers from April onwards, as the Aadhaar enrollment was still going on.
