The Annual Function of Siddhartha Engineering College (AFOSEC) which got up on Wednesday evoked impressive response with over 3,500 students from different colleges across the State descending on the campus to be part of the two-day event.

The whole campus was abuzz with activity with students huddled up in every part of the college. Enthusiastic participants scurried from one end to the other while faculty members kept themselves within the reach of their pupils for guidance.

The inaugural session was presided over by president of the Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education, Vijayawada, N. Venkateswarlu.

He said the staff and students must work hard to achieve good result and bring laurels to the college.

The Academy vice-president M. Rajaiah and secretary P. Lakshmana Rao urged the staff and students to focus on research projects. They said the Siddhartha management was willing to liberally sanction funds for such academic programmes.

College Director K. Mohana Rao said participation in such activities would instil confidence to face campus interviews in a courageous way. Principal G. Sambasiva Rao said it was heartening to note that over 3,500 students from across the nation had gathered under one roof to participate in 127 exciting activities that were aimed at educating and entertaining the student community. He said winners would carry home cash prizes worth Rs. 2.75 lakh sponsored by nearly 59 sponsors in and around Vijayawada.
