The Samaikya Andhra Pradesh Advocates’ JAC has asked the Andhra Cricket Association and the Board of Control for Cricket in India to cancel the second one-day international cricket match between West Indies and India scheduled to be held here on November 24.
Steering committee of the advocates JAC at is meeting held in Kakinada on November 9 felt that the match, which was a sports entertainment, would hurt the feelings of crores of Samaikyandhra agitators, if it was conducted at this juncture.
At the request of the JAC, Visakhapatnam Bar Association president N.V. Badarinath and Bar Council of AP members S. Krishna Mohan, B.V.R. Murthy, Madhavi Latha and K.V.N. Thammannasetty, and some members of Visakhapatnam Bar Association submitted a copy of the resolution to president of Andhra Cricket Association D.V. Subba Rao on Tuesday and asked him to prevail upon the BCCI and the ACA to cancel the November 24 match, advocates JAC convener Matta Jaikar said in a press release. Copies of the resolution are being sent to District Collector and Commissioner of Police. The resolution was emailed to president, vice-president, honorary secretary and honorary joint secretary of the BCCI.
