GUNTUR: There was a minor commotion at the District Courts premises on Wednesday when two groups of advocates in the Guntur Bar Association clashed over support for united Andhra Pradesh. The issue flared up when president of Guntur Bar Association and chairman of district bar associations, Brahma Reddy, moved a resolution seeking boycott of court duties in solidarity with the movement for United Andhra Pradesh from Wednesday. The other group, consisting of Davuluri Samuel John, co-convener of movement for separate Andhra voiced their protest and said that they had reservations about supporting movement for united State.

Amid some pushing and jostling, the Bar Association members decided to postpone the meeting. Mr. John said that they were supporting the cause of separate Andhra to ensure social justice and speedy development of Andhra region. He also alleged that some vested interests were exploiting students and stoking the movement for United Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the relay fast by the advocates entered the third day with women advocates sitting on the fast on Wednesday.
