A town-based advocate filed a private complaint against Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao in a local court here on Thursday.
In his complaint, Gollapudi Rama Rao, an advocate, alleged that Mr. Rao made “derogatory” comments against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the Telangana Samara Bheri meeting held in Hyderabad in January this year.
He accused the TRS chief of using un-parliamentary language against the Prime Minister, who was holding the highest constitutional post, and ‘belittling’ democratic institutions.
He further charged Mr. Rao with “hoodwinking” the people of Telangana by “fixing” deadlines on the statehood issue and flaring up emotions for his narrow political machinations.
First Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate Mohd. Afroz Akthar asked the Two Town police to investigate and furnish a report.
