Two-day NCERT sponsored Jawaharlal Nehru Science & Environment Exhibition in which students of Kendriya Vidyalayas in Bhubaneswar Region participated with over 300 exhibits got off at KV Ukkunagaram on Thursday.

Inaugurating the exhibition Deputy Commissioner KVS Bhubaneswar Region R Kalavathi urged the students to adopt a scientific approach to face the competition in studies. She congratulated KV Ukkunagaram for organising the exhibition.

The exhibits would be judged by 18 eminent personalities from industrial scientific, teaching and medical communities. The exhibits included eco-friendly houses, magnetic cranes, alternative power sources, sensors and efficient energy conservation models. A seminar was conducted on mathematics to celebrate the National Year of Mathematics commemorating the 125th birthday of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujam.

The main objective of the exhibition is to enhance the inquisitiveness and encourage scientific approach and awareness amongst the children, according to a press release.
