Minister for Minor Irrigation T.G. Venkatesh asked the management of Osmania College to achieve financial independence by exploring channels of additional resources.

Addressing a function in connection with the release of Osmania Times, an in-house periodical, here on Saturday, he said in the days to come only those institutions which maintained highest educational standards coupled with financial self-sufficiency would flourish. He suggested that the new courses that earned high revenues could be started and also the Osmania which completed 62 years of existence deserved to be upgraded as deemed university. By undertaking and sponsoring research activity, educational institutions of higher learning could earn more revenue.

Mr. Venkatesh promised an indoor stadium for the college from his quota of funds. Azra Javed, correspondent of the College, lauded Mr. T.G. Venkatesh for his unstinted support to the college in the last three decades.
