Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau zeroed in on the office of the Regional Transport Officer, Tirupati on Monday and seized cash to the tune of Rs.3.12 lakh.
The cash was found to be in the unauthorised possession of employees, middlemen and agents who were loitering around the office complex developed last year at Mangalam on the city outskirts. The ACB team comprising inspectors P.S.V. Ram Kishore, Lakshmikanth Reddy, Sudhakar Reddy and Chandrasekhar raided the office after receiving several complaints of misappropriation and closely observing the proceedings for a week. Though the officials seized the cash, nobody was arrested. “We will submit a report to our higher-ups and ask our Director-General to take action,” Mr. Ram Kishore told The Hindu .
