VIJAYAWADA: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths conducted a raid on Sub Registrar's Office in Machilipatnam on Monday. ACB Inspector C.M. Gangaiah and his colleagues, T. Kanakaraju and M.A. Rehman, found that two joint sub registrars were in possession of Rs. 15,000, which was not accounted for.
The ACB sleuths said that Rs. 30,000 cash was recovered from joint sub registrars B. Sivaram and M Surya Gopal Krishna Murthy. While the joint sub registrars could account for Rs. 15,000, they had no answer for the rest of the amount, according to Mr. Gangaiah. In another incident, ACB inspector (Vijayawada) K. Venu Gopal and his team caught brokers at RT office in Gudivada. The ACB officials recovered Rs. 17,000 from RT officials. The RT officials failed to give the details of the said amount, according to Mr. Venu Gopal.
