Activists of the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Saturday hailed the hanging of Afzal Guru, the main accused in the Parliament attack case, by bursting crackers and distributing sweets to the passersby here.
Ikshit, leader of N.G. College, ABVP unit, who led the celebrations, accused the Centre of implementing the death penalty on the alleged terrorist with the motive of encashing it in the ensuing elections.
The activists demanded that all such terrorists should be severely punished immediately, as a deterrent for others, and also the money spent on them while in jail could be utilised for people’s welfare. They wanted the terrorists responsible for the recent beheading of two Indian soldiers to be hanged, too.State ABVP Executive member Venkatesh was among those who took part in the celebrations.
