Only United India Insurance and APSRTC attend the adalat
KADAPA: Kadapa District Judge M. Vijayalakshmi on Saturday expressed concern at the poor response from insurance companies to mega Lok Adalat on motor vehicle accidents in Nyaya Seva Sadan here.
Only officials of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation and United India Insurance Company Ltd attended the mega Lok Adalat, while other companies were absent, which was unfortunate, she said.
Speaking after inaugurating a mega Lok Adalat on motor vehicle accident cases, she called upon other insurance companies to attend the mega Lok Adalat.
She called upon litigants to amicably resolve their cases in Lok Adalats.
She said accident victims had to spend hefty amounts on medicare. Besides suffering injuries, they lose livelihood and income, she observed.
Death of an earning member would plunge the family into a crisis and compensation would be of great help to them in providing succour.
