Aam Aadmi Party has promised to end pollution by Visakhapatnam port and scrap Petroleum, Chemical and Petrochemical Investment Region (PCPIR) project.
In its manifesto released for the local area at the GVMC Gandhi statue, AAP candidate for Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha seat Kuna Ramam said after consulting people at the grassroots, they decided to improve drinking water supply and living conditions in every area of the city.
The manifesto promised to regularise the slums and provide houses to the dwellers in a time-bound manner. Mr. Ramam said they would scrap the Special Economic Zone Act and strive for formation of a separate railway zone with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters. Stating that they were in favour of banning export of iron ore and other minerals, he said they would champion the cause of coastal security, implementation of Coastal Regulation Zone, providing cold storage and other facilities to fishermen and putting an end to their displacement due to various projects. e later introduced party candidates for Assembly segments .
