TIRUPATI: Lord Subramanya along with His two Consorts Valli and Devasena were taken in procession on Thursday mounted on the ‘Surya Prabha vahanam’ in Srikalahasti near here.

The deities, perched on the tastefully decorated ‘vahanam’, were taken in procession through the Mada Streets as a large number of devotees and locals witnessed amid devotional fervour.

The procession was taken out as part of the eight-day ‘Aadi Krithika Brahmothsavam’ of Lord Subramanya currently in progress.

The festival is scheduled to conclude on July 29 with the ‘Kalyanothsavam’. ‘Theppothsavam’ would be conducted on July 28. Meanwhile the Srikalahasteeswara Swamy temple is being spruced up for the ‘Aadi Krithika’ festival which would attract a huge congregation of pilgrims from different parts of the State and from the neighbouring Tamil Nadu also.
