Sixteen bulk milk chilling centres to enhance production
KADAPA: Sixteen bulk milk chilling centres were set up in Kadapa district in order to enhance the milk production from 70,000 litres to two lakh litres, DRDA Project Director K. Ashok Reddy said on Monday.
In his inaugural address at a training camp on milk production, quality and maintenance at the Krishi Vignan Kendram at Utukur, he said dairy farming was being promoted in a big way ever since the white revolution was embarked upon one and half years ago. The World Bank team was all praise for the dairy cooperatives, he said. Each family should strive to earn at least Rs. 3,000 per month by increasing milk production.
Increase in quality of milk production would fetch a good price, Mr. Ashok Reddy said. He wanted proper plans chalked out for achieving target for milk production and quality. Krishi Vignan Kendram coordinator Krishna Reddy, scientist Krishna Reddy, course organiser Krishnamurthy, assistant programme manager of dairy Narayanaswamy Reddy, assistant director Prasad, chilling unit managers and district resource persons participated.
