Grama Sabha at Babera village akin to old fashioned ‘Rachabanda'
The Grama Sabha held at Babera village in Boath mandal on Thursday resembled an old fashioned ‘Rachabanda' that used to be conducted in the village square. Collector P. Venkateswarlu presided over the affair where problems facing the village were discussed in the true spirit of the activity.
The usual Gram Sabhas are conducted by officials in Gram Panchayat or school premises. The atmosphere at such meetings is rather formal with the difference in category of officials and the villagers being pronounced.
At Babera, all officials and villagers were seated on carpets in a manner that was reminiscent of similar exercises in rural areas.
The exchange of ideals between the officials and villagers became easy because of this.
