The three-day festival was one of its kind organised for the first time in the city and it will be held every year henceforth. It is amongst the largest and most popular musical festivals of the Indian classical music in the country. The event has nearly six decades of history. This first event in the capital is dedicated to Kirana Gharana maestro late Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. Several artistes of national and international reputation performed during the festival organised by Mohan Hemmadi. “Hyderabad is a hub of many activities. We would like to see that the city also becomes a centre for Indian classical music,” says an organiser.
