The Union Ministry of Health has released special funds to the nine medical colleges in the State to help them improve facilities on their campus. According to a note released by Tirupati Member of Parliament Dr. Chintha Mohan indicating the quantum of funds released to each college by the Central government under the scheme, Sri Venkateswara Medical College, Tirupati was released Rs. 7 crore. The funds released to other medical colleges in the State are as follows, as per the MP's statement: Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, Rs.15 crore, Kurnool Medical College - Rs.10 crore, Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada, 9 crore, Guntur Medical College - Rs.7 crore, Andhra Medical College, Vizakhapatnam, Rs.5 crore, Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal, - Rs.4 crore, Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada and Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad - Rs.3 crore each.
