The first ever National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to MBBS course will be held on Sunday, with nearly 70,000 candidates from the State trying their luck.

Nearly 7.5 lakh have applied across the country.

Most students from the State will also write EAMCET as there is no clarity whether medical admissions will be based on NEET or EAMCET in the State.

The State Government has already challenged NEET, and the Supreme Court is expected to deliver its verdict soon. EAMCET results will be released only after the Supreme Court gives its nod. Meanwhile, candidates have to write both EAMCET and NEET to keep their chances alive. The test will be held in Hyderabad, Nellore, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Warangal from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Candidates have to report by 9.15 a.m.
