GUNTUR: Rotary Club of Vinukonda Central sunk 62 bore wells in various villages of Palnadu mandals in Guntur district and all of them were inaugurated on Wednesday and Thursday.

Supported by Rotarians from Finland, Coordinator for Rotary Polio Plus programme Ravi Vadlamani formally inaugurated the bore wells in Nagulavaram, Pittam Banda, Gangulapalem, Dondapadu, Ummadivaram, Pedakancherla, Gokana Konda, Vinukonda, Mekaladinna Thanda and other nearby villages.

The Rotary Foundation had been giving a call to the Rotarians worldwide to donate $650 so that a hamlet/colony of 250 people could get water for 15 years. “This was in continuation of our effort to provide safe drinking water to every person in Andhra Pradesh and with the support of Rotary Clubs all over the world we had been able to achieve this goal partly,” said Mr. Ravi.
