KADAPA: The government is imparting free training to unemployed youth besides providing them employment in the private sector, DRDA project director K. Ashok Reddy said on Sunday.
Participating in the valedictory session of a mega job mela at the Syndicate Institute for Rural Development on the outskirts of Kadapa, he said nearly 5,000 unemployed youth were imparted training and 4,000 of them were shown placement. Ninety-four companies had come forward to employ trained youth. Fifteen textile firms were also ready to give placement. Youth who gained expertise have good job potential in the competitive arena, he said.
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy promised to allot Rs. 400 crore for generating employment to youth and directed the district administration to provide training to four-fold compared to the present number, Mr. Ashok Reddy said. Stating that there was no dearth of funds, he assured training to any number of youth applicants and to provide placement to all of them.
