Managing Director of A.P. Mineral Development Corporation Limited Praveen Prakash directed officials concerned on Wednesday to acquire and hand over 430 acres of land required by Mangampet Barytes Project (MBP) in Kadapa district.

Addressing a video conference with district Collector Shashi Bhushan Kumar and MBP officials, Mr. Prakash said 430 acres of land was required for dumping the overburden during excavation of barytes ore and the land should be handed over to MBP without any delay.

The Collector replied that Rajampet RDO Padmaja inspected the land which included 80 acres of government land and 140 acres of DKT land. When the MD asked where 90 house sites would be issued for the displaced persons near Mangampet bus stand, Mr. Kumar said a RR-3 colony layout was ready for relocating the 350 families displaced by the Ayyapureddipalle danger zone and roads, electricity drinking water supply and other facilities were being provided. When Mr. Praveen Prakash directed publication of the list of displaced families in the Gazette, the Collector said in all 1,399 displaced families were identified and of them 113 were provided employment and the remaining 1,286 families should be shown employment.

The APMDC and Revenue officials should conduct a joint inspection and forward a report for extraction of iron ore in Pendlimarri, Penagalur and Vontimitta mandals.
