As part of the ongoing traffic regulation drive in the city, the traffic wing of the city police registered 420 cases as per the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and collected a fine to the tune of Rs.55,650 from the violators of road rules in the last three days.
Inspector of the traffic G.V.V. Satyanarayana on Saturday said that as many as 179 cases were booked and fine to the tune of Rs.22,200 was collected from the purview of the Traffic-I police station, whereas 241 cases were booked and Rs.33,450 was collected from the Traffic-II limits. He said that the special drive was aimed at infusing discipline among the autorickshaw drivers and to make them obey the road rules. He said that similar drives would be conducted in the days to come to ensure that all the road users must follow the norms.
