GUNTUR: The National Cadet Corps Guntur Group Headquarters appointed 40 new NCC Officers for various schools and colleges in Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts.

Interviews were held for selection at NCC Group HQ at which 40 professors, lecturers and School Assistants appeared before the interview board presided over by Acharya Nagarjuna University Vice-Chancellor and honorary Colonel of NCC Y.R. Haragopal Reddy, here on Friday.

The Vice-Chancellor along with Group Commander A.S.N. Rao, Administrative Officer MH Dani, Commanding Officer of NCC 25 Battalion G.V.B. Sai Shankar and principal of BHH College for Women K Lalitha were members of the interview board.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor said he was extremely happy to see so many academicians from three districts at one place showing interest in NCC activities.

In his interaction with the NCC officers, the Vice-Chancellor said he would like to have NCC units started in the Engineering and Pharmacy Colleges of the University as well and also enquired about the procedure to be followed.
