The annual TiE-ISB Connect 2012, to bring entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and academicians together to help build successful enterprises will commence from November 22.
The sixth edition of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Hyderabad Chapter and Indian School of Business (ISB) with the theme ‘Growing Your Company- The Next Big Leap’ will see about 40 investors from across the country participating in the three-day event at Hotel Avasa, Madhapur. About 30 investors and venture capitalists would hold one-to-one meetings with the new and upcoming entrepreneurs and assess their proposals, said Ananth Rao, convener, TiE-ISB 2012.
Several new features including ‘BizQuest’ and ‘Leadership Connect’ were included in the event this year.
The bizquest to be held on November 22 would have a jury of investors who evaluate small and growing companies based on their presentations and award Rs.1 crore investment to the best start-up company, Mr. Rao told in a media conference on Friday.
ISB Dean Ajit Rangnekar said the Tie-ISB event gave a fillip to ISB’s effort to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Several delegates from tier-II cities too had been attending the annual event. J.A. Chowdhary, a senior mentor, said the entrepreneurial ecosystem underwent a transformation in the city with early stage funding, incubators for start-up companies, persons to mentor and angel investors since they started the event in 2005.
Mr.Murali Bukkapatnam, president, TiE Hyderabad Chapter, said 150 start-ups and 935 entrepreneurs were mentored by the chapter members. From next year, TiE events would be organised in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati.
