Union Minister P. Balram Naik distributes Rs. 50 cr.to SHGs

The Congress has left no section of society uncovered by its welfare programmes, Union Minister of State for Social Justice P. Balram Naik said here on Wednesday.

Inaugurating the three-day ‘Bharat Nirman Paura Samachara Utsav’ at Government Junior College grounds, the Minister distributed Rs. 50 crore to the self-help groups in his parliamentary constituency.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said this was a rare opportunity where the people would to know details all the welfare schemes. “Unless you know there is a scheme, you cannot benefit from it.

Despite the best efforts, the information is still not reaching the target sections. Hence, this unique programme was launched by the Congress government in 2006,” he said. He wanted the people to visit the venue to learn about various welfare schemes.

Mahabubabad MLA M. Kavitha thanked the Central government for organising the programme. She said it provided an opportunity to the people, mostly the tribal people in rural belts, to know about the programmes that benefitted them.

About 70 stalls were put up by nearly 50 government agencies including DRDA, Animal Husbandry, DWMA, Agricultural and Irrigation with live demonstrations. They brought out pamphlets and brochures on the schemes in their respective departments.
