The 33-day long Satharupa cultural show began here with several folk artists taking out a rally from Koti Reddy circle to Kalakshetram on Saturday evening.

Director of Cultural Affairs M. Kantha Rao, District Collector Shashi Bhushan Kumar and Kadapa SP B. Malla Reddy flagged off the rally and watched the dance performances of traditionally dressed folk artistes. Artistes from all over the State would participate in the programme which ends on September 1 and it would give exposure to various folk arts, the Collector told newsmen.

Folk artistes of Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy and Kadapa participated. Deputy Director of Cultural Affairs Vasantha Rao and CEO of STEP B. Maheswara Reddy also participated.
