A 70-year-old woman suffered heart attack after being introduced to the megastar

VISAKHAPATNAM: Two people died and a teenager fractured both his legs at Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi’s roadshow in the district on Tuesday.

K. Hemalata, 70, who was taken from the city to Tagarapuvalasa by a PR leader by donning her in the attire of Mother Teresa, suffered a heart attack after she was introduced to Mr. Chiranjeevi at Tagarapuvalasa. She was declared brought dead at King George Hospital. She was taken to Tagarapuvalasa along with two others to entertain people in the getup of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Ambedkar.

In a separate incident, E. Tirupati Rao, 43, a die-hard fan of Mr. Chiranjeevi, died when his bike was hit by one of the vehicles in the convoy following the film actor at Gandigundem near Sontyam. He died instantaneously.

Appala Reddy, 14, fractured both his legs when a speeding vehicle ran over him. The mishap occurred when he was running to have a close look at Mr. Chiranjeevi near Pendurthy. Later, he was shifted to KGH.
