VISAKHAPATNAM: Two persons were arrested and 1,500 litres of diesel, stored in drums, was seized in a raid conducted by the city police on Friday.
K. Garagayya (40) and V. Ellaiah (35), both residents of Chengalraopeta, buy diesel, from one Ramanaiah, who gets in turn gets them from ships and oil tankers illegally.
While the actual price of diesel is Rs. 33 a litre, they get it for Rs. 20 and sell it for Rs. 25 a litre. On a tip off, the One Town Police conducted the raid and arrested the accused while they were selling the diesel at the fishing harbour.
The third accused is at large. Circle Inspector K. Vijaya led the raid.
