HYDERABAD: Nearly 1.5 lakh candidates will take the Common Entrance Examination for Polytechnics (CEEP) being held on April 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in 335 centres across the State.
The number of aspirants has increased by nearly 50 per cent this year. Last year 96,783 candidates appeared for the test which itself was an increase of nearly 30 per cent compared to the previous year. Maximum number of candidates are taking the test in Vishakapatnam followed by Kakinada while the least number of candidates are from Medak. In the twin cities 13,900 candidates are appearing from 31 centres.
P.T. Prabhakar, Joint Director, Technical Education Department, said that hall-tickets had been issued and those who had not got the same could take duplicate hall-tickets free of cost from the coordinators concerned. He said that candidates who had not submitted their forms but had purchased before the deadline could still submit them and get their hall-tickets before the examination also.
He said results would be declared within 15 days and the admissions were likely to begin on May 25.
The State has 109 Polytechnics of which 65 are Government Polytechnics offering 10,225 sets and 44 private Polytechnics offering 11,265 seats.
