As many as 135 villages will be developed in Medak district in the near future. These villages will have CC roads, drains and individual sanitary latrines.

Based on the number of labourers working under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS), which indirectly suggests the financial conditions of the villagers as dependent on work being provided by the government, these villages are being selected.


Addressing a gathering after hoisting the national flag at Sangareddy on Thursday, Collector S. Suresh Kumar said that construction of 25,000-tonnee capacity godowns at the market yards taken up at Sadasivapet, Siddipet, Jogipet and Watpally at an estimated cost of Rs. 8 crore would be completed shortly.

Milk storage centre

The works for 15,000 litre capacity milk storage centre taken up at Pulkal at a cost of Rs. 4 crore are under progress, he said adding that 3,204 ‘pala pragati kendralu' would be come up in the district at an estimated cost of Rs. 151 crore, which was formally commenced recently by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Mr. Suresh Kumar has also explained various initiatives taken up by the district administration as well as the State government, including sanctioning of two 400 KV sub-stations at a cost of Rs. 800 crore, construction of 24 model schools and anganwadi centres and establishment of hotel management institute.
