VIZIANAGARAM: Minister for Health S. Chandrasekhar has said that 104 service (fixed day health service) will be introduced in the district from next month. Patients suffering from BP, sugar etc would be examined and given medicines free of cost for one month.
Never before in the past, the government allocated Rs.5,000 crores for medical and health in the Budget and so far built pucca buildings for 171 PHCs in the State.
The Minister was speaking as a chief guest at the Indiramma Sambaraalu after inaugurating a PHC building built at a cost of Rs.30 lakhs at Sathivada village in Nellimarla mandal on Monday. He assured to sanction supporting staff for the PHC.
Saying that the government was giving priority to education and health, Mr. Chandrasekhar said that the government sanctioned medical colleges for each district, opened success schools with a view to improve communication skills in English and also introduced IIIT for best students in mandals.
Detailing others schemes and programmes of the government, he claimed that 1.50 lakh youth were being provided employment every year under Rajiv Udyoga Sri.
Mandali Buddha Prasad, district in-charge Minister, said that the government had decided to pay pension of Rs.500 – Rs.700 per month to the physically challenged persons from December.
Comparing the welfare schemes now being implemented with that of Chandrababu Naidu government, he said Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, who neglected agriculture then, was now, out of fear, talking about farmers’ woes. He called upon women to educate their children to rise above poverty line.
Botcha Satyanarayana, Minister for Housing, said that the government would purchase land and construct houses for the poor. He claimed that 90 per cent of the houses sanctioned under the first two phases of Indiramma programme were completed.
The ministers handed over sanction certificates to the eligible. P. Sambasiva Raju, MLA, V.V.Rama Rao and G. Srinivasulu Naidu, MLCs, B. Appala Naidu, ZP Chairperson and others spoke.
Later, Mr. Chandrasekhar inaugurated foot over bridge and a kalynamandapam at Moida village in the same mandal.
