Top Indian diplomats will meet here next week for a four-day closed-door brainstorming session where they will interact with leading policy makers including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and Commerce Minister Anand Sharma. The diplomats will also call on President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said here on Thursday.

Given the salience of economics in diplomacy, captains of industry will join diplomats at round tables with the Indian Ambassadors posted in the U.S., Canada, Latin America & Caribbean & Africa Regions. Asked if the deliberations of the Heads of Missions will also touch ceasefire violations by Pakistan and developments in China on the borders , he said, “all the issues that you mentioned will be discussed”.
