Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will launch soon launch a new scheme under which three students from each district will be given computers.

Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri made this announcement here on Sunday after inaugurating the State-level science exhibition at Sri Neelakanteshwar Vidyavardhak Society's Sri Gangadhar Swamiji Virakta Math Ayurvedic Medical College. He said three selected students from each district will benefit from the scheme. However, he did not give details about about the programme. Mr. Kageri said that the Government had initiated several measures to provide better facilities in schools and one such measure was to establish health clubs in every high school.

The Minister said that the three-day exhibition organised here was the “best” among all such events held across the State. He called upon the students to participate in such events in large numbers because it helps in developing a scientific temper. He also wanted the children and teachers to know that many scientific and technological inventions were made for the first time in India. The exhibition has been jointly organised by Belgaum zilla panchayat, district administration, Education Department, and the State Education Research and Training Centre, Bangalore.
