Three persons died in separate accidents reported in Hassan district since Tuesday afternoon.

A 16-year-old boy died on the spot after he was run over by a mini-lorry near Nagalapura Gate on Holenarsipur-Arkalgud Road on Wednesday morning. The police said Kishan of Maragondanahalli in Holenarsipur taluk was waiting for a bus along with his father, Krishne Gowda, when the mini-lorry ran over him. The lorry driver is absconding. Krishne Gowda has filed a complaint with the Holenarsipur Rural police.

Knocked down

A pedestrian died after he was knocked down by a lorry on S.P. Road in Sakleshpur on Tuesday evening. The police identified him as Veer (30) of Kushala Nagar extension in Sakleshpur. His relative Ramu, who witnessed the accident, has filed a complaint with the Sakleshpur Town police. The lorry driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot.


Manjunath (35), a resident of Belagumba in Arsikere taluk, died in a collision between two two-wheelers near Kantenahalli in Arsikere taluk on Tuesday afternoon. He was on his way to his village from Arsikere when the accident occurred. Manjunath suffered serious injuries and succumbed to them in the Government Hospital in Arsikere. The rider of the other two-wheeler is absconding.
