The condition of legendary Bengali actor Suchitra Sen continues to remain stable after her partial responding to non-invasive ventilation, said a medical bulletin of a city clinic where she is admitted.

“However, her oxygen saturation needs continuous monitoring. Her heart rate and blood pressure continues to remain stable,” it said.

Ms. Sen was given non–invasive ventilation with a mask to provide her adequate oxygen after her condition deteriorated on Friday.

A seven-member medical board is monitoring her health condition continuously.

Chief Minister visits

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Ms. Sen during the day and stayed with her for nearly 25 minutes.

“[The] day before yesterday [Friday] I had visited Belle Vue Nursing Home to enquire about the health of mahanayika Suchitra Sen as her condition was critical,” Ms. Banerjee said in a post on her page in a social networking cite.

After her condition improved a bit, the actress got to know that Ms. Banerjee had gone to meet her and reportedly wanted to talk to her.

“Later on, when she... became a little stable and came to know that I visited the nursing home to enquire about her health, she expressed her desire to meet me,” said Ms. Banerjee.

She prayed for Ms. Sen’s speedy recovery.
