Chief Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax, B.B. Prasad, has said that the budget presented by Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram was a straightforward one with no room for confusion in the minds of tax payers.

Addressing a meeting organised by the Federation of AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) on budget proposals, Mr. Prasad also said that the administration of tax in the new regime would be with minimal inconvenience to payers.

He added that the revenue collection from indirect taxes was projected to grow by 20 per cent next year against 26 per cent this fiscal.
