The AP Civil Liberties Committee (APCLC) has demanded that the State government withdraw the ban on Revolutionary Democratic Front (RDF) as it was only a rights organisation working within the framework of Constitution and did not indulge in any violent activity.

The committee leaders G. Haragopal, D. Suresh Kumar and others told a press conference on Saturday that the political bankruptcy of the government would be exposed if it did not lift the ban. On the one hand, the government asked CPI (Maoist) to come for talks after giving up arms but here was an organisation which did not possess any weapons at all. It was clear therefore that the government did not have a consistent stand on treating revolutionaries.
