MUMBAI: A 27-year-old South African model, who came here in September to start a career in Bollywood, was allegedly gang-raped by two persons in a hotel.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashikant Shinde said on Saturday that a case of rape, under Section 376/34 of the IPC, had been registered against the two whom he declined to identify.

However, sources in the Vile Parle station, where the victim filed a complaint, said the South African national identified the accused as Rahul and Aditya.

She said the accused laced her drink with some drug when she went to toilet in Hotel Bawa International on Wednesday. When she became groggy, they took her in a car to an isolated location and raped her.

Later, they dropped her at her Lokhandwala residence, police sources said.

Hotel owner Kiran Bawa said the model had come to the hotel's pub, but denied any rape incident.

Mr. Shinde said the police collected vital information about the accused from the hotel staff and the owner, and they would be arrested soon.

The woman, daughter of a South African business tycoon, was staying in an apartment at Lokhandwala in Andheri West.

Medical tests confirmed rape, the sources added. - UNI
