Soofiya Maudany, wife of People’s Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasir Maudany, has said that her husband’s life will be in danger unless he is given expert medical treatment.
Mr. Maudany is undergoing imprisonment at the central jail at Parappana Agrahara in Karnataka in connection with the 2008 Bangalore serial bomb blasts case.
Addressing a press meet here on Friday, Ms. Maudany called for immediate intervention on the part of the Union and State governments and human rights activists to secure bail for her husband for expert medical treatment.
The Ayurveda treatment given to Mr. Maudany at Soukya International Holistic Centre on the intervention of the Supreme Court in 2011 was effective. But his health deteriorated thereafter, due to the obduracy of the Karnataka High Court and constant shifting of hospitals, Ms. Maudany alleged.
Ms. Maudany has moved the Karnataka High Court for securing bail for her husband so that he could be present at his daughter’s marriage on March 10. She said that owing to acute diabetes, her husband had blood clot in eyes and brain and he had lost vision of his right eye completely. She said that he also had kidney-related and urinary ailments.
