Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala has said that the ‘remarkable’ victory of the Congress at the Karnataka Assembly elections is a ‘‘clear sign of things to come’’ in the run-up to the general elections.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a reception accorded to the Kerala Yatra at Pala on Wednesday, Mr. Chennithala said the result was also an indication that the public could no longer be deceived by communal forces. It could also be seen as an endorsement of the leadership of party president Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
