Senior lawyer passes away

T.P. Kelu Nambiar, senior lawyer and Constitutional expert, died here on Sunday. He was 85.

Kelu Nambiar, who hailed from Cherukunnam in Kannur district, had been active in the legal profession for nearly six decades, his expertise in civil law widely appreciated.

Kelu Nambiar, a graduate from the Madras Law College (now Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai), had been the chairman of the disciplinary committee of the Bar Council of Kerala for about two decades and the president of the Kerala High Court Advocates’ Association.

He is survived by his wife and three children.

The funeral will take place at the Ravipuram crematorium at noon on Monday.

The Indian Association of Lawyers, in a message on Sunday, has condoled the death of Kelu Nambiar. — Staff Reporter
