New Delhi: The former Congress MP, Sajjan Kumar, was on Wednesday chargesheeted by the Central Bureau of Investigation in two separate cases of alleged provocative speeches, leading to the killing of 12 people in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

The agency filed the charge sheets in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja here after concluding its investigation into the cases registered on the recommendation of the Nanavati Commission in 2005.

The cases were registered in the Sultanpuri and Delhi Cantonment police stations following the killing of seven and five persons respectively in the riots that broke out after the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. — PTI
