The central division of the Bangalore city police have rounded up 59 persons under preventive detention in the wake of the Assembly elections. A team of officials, who conducted raids on 169 houses, detained 89 persons with criminal background. After verifying their activities, the police have detained 59 and remanded them in judicial custody till the elections are over. The drive would continue in other parts of the city as well, Deputy Commissioner Ravikanthe Gowda has said.
